Internship Information

Lancaster County Adult Probation and Parole Services is highly interested in providing numerous internship opportunities to Junior or Senior students pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in sociology, social work, psychology, or criminal justice. We are looking for students who are not only interested in pursuing a career in criminal justice, but a career in social services. 
 
Internship positions are open year round and are unpaid. Opportunities exist in all of the programs for both part-time (minimum 12 hours a week) and full-time internships (minimum 35 hours a week) for a full semester. As a rule, we encourage both shadowing and hands-on experience as much as possible with our interns, granting him/her the opportunity to participate in client contacts, court proceedings, treatment team meetings, gaining experience in an office environment, etc. Please review the student intern expectations for APPS.

  2. A Resume
  3. A copy of your current college transcript
  4. A copy of the syllabus from your professor or internship requirements
  5. The APPS Internship Application

Students should submit these documents at least three weeks prior to the beginning of the semester.
